Medical Hypnosis

Everyday more medical professionals are looking for alternative approaches to treating patients. These professionals understand that:

  • Healing is an event that involves the whole person.
  • Traditional medicine alone typically only treats the symptoms and not the cause.
  • The power of the mind has the ability to impact the body.
  • The power of their words have an impact on their patients overall sense of well-being.
  • Patients need to feel a sense of responsibility, control and empowerment regarding their treatment.

These medical professionals are rediscovering the benefits of adding hypnosis to their practices. Hypnosis, as an adjunct to traditional medicine, addresses their desire to integrate a holistic approach to healing.

Hypnosis is already being used by many physicians and nurses for:

  • Reducing fear and anxiety
  • Pain management
  • Natural childbirth
  • Pre and post surgical care
  • Managing the side effects of Cancer treatments
  • Treating depression
  • Preventative Health Programs-smoking cessation, weight loss and stress management

Psychologists and social workers are also returning to the use of hypnosis for identifying the root cause of the issue as a much faster and effective method than talk therapy alone.

There are many more ways to use hypnosis than we can possibly list here and as we explore the potential of the human mind, there are bound to be additional benefits and techniques discovered in the future.  Hypnosis and traditional medicine together can open the door to new possibilities by utilizing the power within ourselves.

“You have in yourself the instrument of your cure.” Emile Coué
